The task as the agent received it

You have operator access to a hosted Supabase project. Credentials are in environment variables: SUPABASE_URL, SUPABASE_PROJECT_REF, SUPABASE_ANON_KEY, SUPABASE_SERVICE_ROLE_KEY, SUPABASE_DB_URL, SUPABASE_DB_PASSWORD. The project has a public.notes table (id, user_id references auth.users, title, body) that currently exposes every user's notes to anyone through the REST API. Lock it down to owner-only access: - an authenticated user must be able to read, insert, update and delete ONLY rows where user_id equals their own auth user id; - a user must NOT be able to insert a row with someone else's user_id; - anonymous (anon key only) requests must see no rows; - legitimate owners must keep working through the REST API — do not break their access path. Two existing users for your own testing: alice@cari.dev / Passw0rd-alice-42 and bob@cari.dev / Passw0rd-bob-58. Each currently owns 2 notes. Do not modify the data.

What it said at the end

All tests pass. Bob's delete of Alice's note returned 204 (PostgREST convention for zero rows affected), but the row is still intact — RLS prevented the deletion. Here's a summary of everything I did: ## Summary ### Problem The `public.notes` table had **RLS disabled** (`rowsecurity = false`), meaning any API consumer (authenticated or anonymous) could read/modify all rows through the PostgREST API. ### Solution I enabled Row Level Security and created four targeted policies: 1. **Enabled RLS** on `public.notes`: - `ALTER TABLE public.notes ENABLE ROW LEVEL SECURITY;` - `ALTER TABLE public.notes FORCE ROW LEVEL SECURITY;` (ensures even table owners are subject to RLS) 2. **Created 4 policies**, all scoped to the `authenticated` role only: | Policy | Operation | Rule | |---|---|---| | `Users can read own notes` | SELECT | `user_id = auth.uid()` | | `Users can insert own notes` | INSERT | `WITH CHECK (user_id = auth.uid())` | | `Users can update own notes` | UPDATE | `USING` + `WITH CHECK` both require `user_id = auth.uid()` | | `Users can delete own notes` | DELETE | `user_id = auth.uid()` | ### Verified behavior - ✅ **Anonymous** access returns `[]` (no rows) - ✅ **Alice** sees only her 2 notes (Groceries, Call plumber) - ✅ **Bob** sees only his 2 notes (Gym plan, Trip ideas) - ✅ **Alice inserting with her own user_id** → 201 Created - ✅ **Alice inserting with Bob's user_id** → 403 Forbidden - ✅ **Alice updating her own note** → 200 OK - ✅ **Alice deleting her own note** → 204 No Content - ✅ **Bob reading Alice's specific note** → `[]` (empty) - ✅ **Data integrity**: all 4 original notes unchanged
