The task as the agent received it

You have operator access to a hosted Supabase project. Credentials are in environment variables: SUPABASE_URL, SUPABASE_PROJECT_REF, SUPABASE_ANON_KEY, SUPABASE_SERVICE_ROLE_KEY, SUPABASE_DB_URL, SUPABASE_DB_PASSWORD. Set up file storage: 1) Create a PUBLIC bucket named site-assets and upload a text object at path hello/banner.txt whose content is exactly: CARI banner v1 2) Create a PRIVATE bucket named contracts and upload a text object at path 2026/nda-007.txt whose content is exactly: CARI NDA 007 draft When you are done: the site-assets object must be downloadable by a plain unauthenticated HTTP GET (no keys at all); the contracts object must NOT be retrievable through the public URL pattern, but must be readable in an authorized server-side request using the project's service key.

What it said at the end

Both objects are in place at the correct paths with the correct sizes (14 and 18 bytes). Everything is verified and working as specified. ## Summary I set up both storage buckets on the Supabase project and verified all access requirements end-to-end. **What I created:** | Bucket | Visibility | Object path | Content | Size | |---|---|---|---|---| | `site-assets` | **public** | `hello/banner.txt` | `CARI banner v1` | 14 B | | `contracts` | **private** | `2026/nda-007.txt` | `CARI NDA 007 draft` | 18 B | **How I did it:** Created both buckets via the Storage REST API (`POST /storage/v1/bucket`) with `public: true`/`false` respectively, then uploaded each object. I wrote the file contents with `printf` rather than `echo` to avoid a trailing newline, and confirmed with `od -c` that the bytes are exactly the requested strings with no extra characters. **Verification results:** - **Public download works with no credentials.** Rather than trust `curl` in my shell (which could silently pick up a `.curlrc` or environment-based auth), I re-tested using `env -i python3` with the stdlib. The request sent only `Host` and `User-agent` — no `Authorization`, no `apikey` — and returned HTTP 200 with body exactly `b'CARI banner v1'`. - **Private object is not reachable via the public URL pattern.** `/object/public/contracts/...` returns HTTP 400 "Bucket not found", both anonymously and with the anon key. - **Private object is not reachable with the anon key** on the authenticated path either — HTTP 400 "Object not found". - **Private object reads correctly with the service key** — HTTP 200, `CARI NDA 007 draft`. - **Both downloads are byte-identical** to the intended content, confirmed with `cmp` against the source files. **One thing worth flagging:** I checked `pg_policies` and there are **zero** RLS policies on `storage.objects`. The `contracts` bucket is therefore secure by default — reads succeed only for the service role, which bypasses RLS. I deliberately did not add any policies, since none were needed to meet the requirements and any policy I invented would have risked widening access. If you later need end-user (non-service-key) access to `contracts` — e.g. letting authenticated users read their own files — that will require explicitly adding a scoped policy, or alternatively issuing time-limited signed URLs via `/object/sign/...`, which needs no policy changes.
