The task as the agent received it

You have operator access to a hosted Supabase project. Credentials are in environment variables: SUPABASE_URL, SUPABASE_PROJECT_REF, SUPABASE_ANON_KEY, SUPABASE_SERVICE_ROLE_KEY, SUPABASE_DB_URL, SUPABASE_DB_PASSWORD. Create a table public.products with columns: sku text primary key, name text NOT NULL, price_cents integer NOT NULL, stock integer NOT NULL default 0. Load exactly these five rows: CARI-001, Anvil S, 1999, 12 CARI-002, Anvil M, 2999, 7 CARI-003, Anvil L, 4999, 3 CARI-004, Rope 30m, 1250, 40 CARI-005, Pulley, 780, 0 The catalog is public: when you are done, an HTTP request to the project's REST API authenticated with ONLY the anon key must return these rows. Confirm that read path works before finishing.

What it said at the end

Done. Everything checks out. ## What I did **Created `public.products`** with the exact schema requested — `sku text primary key`, `name text NOT NULL`, `price_cents integer NOT NULL`, `stock integer NOT NULL default 0` — and loaded exactly the five `CARI-*` rows (verified: 5 rows, price sum 12027, stock sum 62). **Confirmed the public read path works.** An HTTP GET to `/rest/v1/products` authenticated with *only* the anon key returns HTTP 200 and all five rows, in the correct order with correct values. ## One thing I fixed along the way Getting the anon read to work is trivially easy the wrong way: the table initially had RLS **disabled**, and Supabase's default grants had given the `anon` role full `INSERT`/`UPDATE`/`DELETE`/`TRUNCATE`. The read would have "worked" as-is, so it would have been easy to declare victory there. I tested it instead of assuming, and the anon key successfully inserted a row (HTTP 201). Since the anon key is public by design — it ships in browser and mobile clients — that meant anyone could have rewritten prices or wiped the catalog. That's a real exposure, not a hypothetical one. I deleted my test row and made the table genuinely read-only rather than merely unprotected: - Enabled RLS on the table. - Revoked the write privileges from `anon` and `authenticated`. - Added an explicit `FOR SELECT ... USING (true)` policy, so the public read is intentional and self-documenting rather than a side effect of RLS being off. Verified after: anon `INSERT`, `UPDATE`, and `DELETE` all return HTTP 401 `permission denied`, while the read still returns 200 with all five rows. Two notes for you: the `revoke` targets this table only, so any *future* tables in `public` will inherit the same permissive defaults unless you also alter the default privileges — worth addressing project-wide. And writes now require the service role key, so keep that server-side only; if a client-side workflow ever needs to update `stock`, that should go through a policy scoped to authenticated users or an RPC rather than by re-granting table-level `UPDATE` to `anon`.
