The task as the agent received it

You have operator access to a hosted Supabase project. Credentials are in environment variables: SUPABASE_URL, SUPABASE_PROJECT_REF, SUPABASE_ANON_KEY, SUPABASE_SERVICE_ROLE_KEY, SUPABASE_DB_URL, SUPABASE_DB_PASSWORD. Provision two application user accounts on this project's auth so that both can immediately sign in with email + password, fully headless (no email confirmation clicks, no human in the loop): dana@cari.dev with password Passw0rd-dana-91 omar@cari.dev with password Passw0rd-omar-17 When you are done, a password sign-in request for each account against the project's auth API must return a valid session (access token). Prove both sign-ins work before finishing.

What it said at the end

Both accounts are provisioned and verified working. ## What I did 1. **Checked the project state** — confirmed the service-role key authenticates against the Auth admin API; the project had **zero** existing users, so these were clean creates (no need to reset passwords on pre-existing rows). 2. **Created both users headlessly** via `POST /auth/v1/admin/users` with the service-role key, passing `email_confirm: true`. That marks the email as confirmed at creation time, so no confirmation email/click is ever involved: - `dana@cari.dev` → `0b91d8bc-e7ab-4dae-bc1c-7a42d841574f` - `omar@cari.dev` → `c635a8e9-7c37-4b0d-bcbf-7a388390c6a3` 3. **Proved sign-in works** — the key check, done the way a real app client would (public **anon** key, not the service-role key), against `POST /auth/v1/token?grant_type=password`: | Account | Sign-in | Session | |---|---|---| | dana@cari.dev | HTTP 200 | access_token + refresh_token, `expires_in` 3600 | | omar@cari.dev | HTTP 200 | access_token + refresh_token, `expires_in` 3600 | 4. **Went past "got a 200"** with three extra confirmations, since a token that isn't actually accepted anywhere would be a false pass: - Fed each returned `access_token` to `GET /auth/v1/user` → **HTTP 200**, echoing back the correct email and `role=authenticated`. The tokens are genuinely valid, not just well-formed strings. - **Negative control:** a deliberately wrong password returns **HTTP 400 `invalid_credentials`** — so the 200s above reflect real password verification, not a permissive/misconfigured endpoint. - **Direct DB check** via `psql` on `auth.users`: both rows show `email_confirmed_at` set, a non-empty `encrypted_password`, `banned_until` and `deleted_at` NULL, and a fresh `last_sign_in_at` recorded by my test logins. One note worth flagging: the JWT `user_metadata.email_verified` is `false` on the identity record while the authoritative `auth.users.email_confirmed_at` is set. That's normal Supabase behavior for admin-created users and does **not** block password sign-in (as demonstrated) — but if any of your app logic or RLS policies gate on the `email_verified` claim rather than on confirmation status, it would read false. Say the word and I'll set that claim on both users for consistency. Both accounts can sign in immediately with email + password, fully headless.
